Holy Week and Easter

Join us for Holy Week and Easter services at Chapel Hill

Sacrifice. Love. Death … yet beautiful resurrection, hope, and renewal! This is Holy Week and Easter. At Chapel Hill, we welcome everyone to experience and share the extraordinary grace and love of Jesus Christ. We offer several services this year, beginning with Palm Sunday and culminating with Easter. Join us in worship this season. We’d love to welcome you!

Holy Week and Easter Schedule

Palm Sunday

This is the beginning of Holy Week as we remember the final week of Jesus’ life on earth. Children sing and wave palms during worship. An Easter Egg Hunt and lunch follows church at 12:15 p.m.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday, March 29, 7:00 p.m.
Dellrose United Methodist Church
1502 Dellrose, Wichita, KS 67208

Join us at Dellrose UMC for a joint service with our fellow United Methodist congregations at Dellrose and St. Mark’s. We remember the institution of Holy Communion and Jesus’ command to love each other. Chapel Hill pastor in residence Rev. Kalabi Chali preaching.

Good Friday Tenebrae Worship

Friday, March 30, 7:00 p.m.

Under the leadership of Dr. Jen Stephenson and the Celebration Choir, the Service of Shadows (Tenebrae) is an experience where Scripture and Song help us experience the Passion of the Christ. The sanctuary gradually darkens as we approach the story of Crucifixion. Historically, this is the only service of worship where Holy Communion is not celebrated. Nursery available for ages 0-4.

Easter Sunday

Sunday, April 1
Services at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m.

This child-friendly service includes a children’s sermon and brief homily from Senior Pastor Rev. Jeff Gannon on what the Resurrection means for everyday living. Not just a doctrine we believe, the resurrection is a way of life we embrace. The Sacrament of Holy Communion is served and the Celebration Choir will sing Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” To beat the crowd and secure parking, come to the 8 a.m. service!

Please note: to facilitate traffic flow, Officer Mike will direct cars to the right onto 13th Street following the 9:30 service on Easter Sunday.
