Meet Eight-Year-Old Nathan Baker
Nathan Baker has taken part in Chapel Hill’s Resurrection 5K every year since the event began in 2014.
“Nathan first participated in the Resurrection 5K Walk/Run when he was turning five. It happened the weekend of his birthday and he requested that we run together, as a family, to celebrate. That spurred other physical activities to celebrate birthdays in our family. Now we do bike races, 5Ks and hikes to celebrate another year of life together. Every year he gets better at running the whole thing. When he was almost eight years old, he ran the whole thing, faster than his mama. It is definitely part of our birthday tradition now and we are so glad Chapel Hill continues to offer this special opportunity for families to be active TOGETHER!” — Beth Baker
88 year-old Fred Lindenmeyer is the elder statesman of our Resurrection 5K. Learn his fascinating story.
