Meet Zac Morris, Chapel Hill Teen

Before Zac Morris graduated into the big wide world of young adulthood, Chapel Hill Youth Ministry Director Eric Hauck sat down to talk with Zac about life, faith, and his favorite and least favorite things.

What School and grade level are you?

I am a Junior at Northfield School of the Liberal Arts.

What movie could you watch over and over again? 

Sandlot 3

What three things you would want to have with you if you were stranded alone on an island?

Water, Clif bars, cell phone

What is your greatest pet peeve?

When people chew gum loudly.

What is one question you will ask God when you get to heaven?

I would probably be speechless.

Favorite amusement park?

Six Flags in Arlington, Texas.

If you were going to ride across Texas in a 1965 El Camino with a famous actor, who would it be?

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

What is a Bible verse that means a lot to you?

Humble yourself before God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7

If all food in the whole world tasted the same, what would it to taste like?

Chocolate chip pancakes

If you were allowed to throw one thing off the Empire State Building what would you throw?

A baseball.

If you were given 10 million dollars, what would you do with it?

I would give 5 million to Chapel Hill, 4 million to American Lung Association for asthma research and keep 1 million for myself.

Have you ever cried at a movie? If so, which one?

Finding Nemo when I was 5 years old.

MLB 2K and Madden

What is one of the coolest “God moments” you’ve experienced?

My Mom received the call that my Grandpa had just passed away and we were on our way to my baseball game.  My Mom went to be with my Grandma and I went on to my game because my Grandpa was a huge baseball fan and I knew he would still want me to pitch that night. I felt God right there with me that whole game and I won it for my Grandpa.

What comforts you when you are sad?

Talking and praying with my Mom.

Would you rather go to school for a day dressed like Cinderella, or sing a song in front of church dressed like a professional wrestler?


If you were going to be an animal, what would you be? 


If you could choose one superpower what would it be? 

I would fly!

Have you ever sung out loud to a Justin Beiber song? If so, where? 

Yes, at school dances.

Favorite song or band? 

“Yesterday” by the Beatles

Coolest place you ever visited?

Jamestown, Virginia

What are a few things that help you draw closer to Jesus?

Praying, reading the Bible and Bennett’s Bible study.

Best birthday party?

This year when I turned 17 and had some friends spend the night.

What kind of hair-do do you want for the first 1,000 years in heaven? 

A fauxhawk!

What is something you are really good at?

Whistling songs.

Oldest person you ever met?

My great-grandmother.

What is one thing you really like about Chapel Hill UMC?

The friends I have made over the last ten years.

How many times have you fallen asleep while Pastor Jeff is preaching? 


Most fun memory with your dad?

Our fishing trips.

Favorite hobby?

Studying history.

Most embarrassing moment?

I fell down the staircase at school in front of a girl I liked last year.

What’s your personal time limit for doing the three things you want to do before you die?

Make a JFK assassination documentary, get married and have kids.

Where will you be living and what will you be doing in 10 years?

I would like to be living in Dallas, TX and working as a Curator at The Sixth Floor Museum (JFK)

What do you do to relax? 

Listen to music.

Who’s your hero?

My History teacher, Mr. Spurgeon.

Would you rather skydive from a plane or stay on the ground and video the person jumping?


Scariest moment of your life? 

I was locked out of a cabin in the woods of Virginia at 2:00 am.

Forgiving, omnipotent, caring

My mom.

Quite time in my room.

Having an asthma attack and dying.

Rescue Heroes Billy Blazes

Longest distance you have ever run?

Two miles; I am asthmatic.

Farthest from home you’ve ever been?

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

If you could be professional athlete what sport would you play?


If money were no issue, what would you do with your life? 

I would work out all the time.

If the President gave you power to change one thing about the U.S.A, what would it be?

I would make all smoking illegal.

Worst injury you’ve had?

I have broken the same arm three times.

On the airplane, do you try to talk to person next to you or ignore them and hope they don’t even see you?

I ignore them. You’re not supposed to talk to strangers.
